I ordered this sweater, wanting to do something with my daughter's varsity letter (other than collect dust in a drawer). Not expecting much, it was an AMAZING surprise to find, not only the incredible quality (weight, construction, and fit) but that my 15 year old daughter LOVES it and has been wearing it almost non-stop since she unwrapped it on Christmas! Several of her teammates have asked for the web-site and are ordering their own. I think there will be a new "fashion-trend" at school after the holidays. I was afraid I would be disappointed by the quality of an acrylic sweater. But, not wanting to "waste" money on the more expensive wool sweater if my daughter didn't like it, I took a chance and am 100%plus satisfied. There are many details that are undetectable by the pictures/description: the seam along the sleeve cuff is "reversed" so you can roll the cuff and not have a bulky seam allowance show; the front band and pocket edges are pieced allowing it to have more "weight/thickness" and to lie flat even after washing; bottom edge is hemmed (instead of banding) that prevents "rippling" or pulling. Having washed it only once, I can't attest to it's performance over a long period of time/multiple washings, but it did come out "good-as-new" after one washing. However, I washed it in cold and laid it flat to dry (warm wash/tumble dry was recommended by manufacturer) due to the chenille patches I had sewn on. I was afraid they would "bleed" onto the white acrylic and curl or shrink in the dryer (it did neither with cold-wash/flat-dry). The only suggestion I have is to offer the sweater in black (with colored stripes) as well as white. Less likely to show dirt and more likely to get orders from boys. Also, a few more colors for the stripes - purple, gold to name two that I found strikingly absent.
